About Us

Fantôme (French for "phantom" or "ghost") is a small fragrance house co-owned and operated by Bree and Megan Elliott (married) since 2017, based in the United States. We strive to create fragrances that are both novel and beautiful, and bottle these evocative scents as perfume oils and extrait de parfum (alcohol-based perfume extraits), all of which are hand-blended by us in small batches. 

Our perfume is inspired by the paranormal and the often-forgotten, overlooked, and feared thread of magic that weaves through the ages of human history. We draw from mythology, fantasy, and the scent memories of places we have been.

We currently offer 49 unique fragrances (a complete list with brief descriptions of each can be found here) across our General Catalogue, and 4 themed collections, and the list is always growing. Our fragrances are permanent and will never be moved out of rotation, and we strive to ensure that they are always in stock. Not having seasonal or limited releases allows us to curate each collection with intention and sustainability in mind, and gives space to the stories we want to tell.

Bree started trying to make perfume from rose petals and other garden ruffage when she was very young, with limited success. Undeterred, she carried that early love for perfume throughout her life until she began to seriously study the creation side of things. Before becoming a perfumer, she studied or worked in Russia, Japan, Ukraine, and Italy, and often draws on scent memories of these times for inspiration. She dreams up and formulates all of our fragrances, compounds every batch of perfume, and takes care of customer service, graphic design, and social media.

Megan has always dreamed of running her own company and has a background in small business operations and management. She keeps everything organized and running smoothly behind the scenes and handles all aspects of production, accounting, and oversees fulfillment

We fell in love after swapping ghost stories at a disastrous Christmas party, and things have been pretty spooky ever since. We translate a love of all things travel, historical, occult, and arcane into what we do, allowing our mutual interests to inspire the direction for each new collection release.
