Freshly turned grave soil and spring greenery lie beneath uplifting orange and crisp yuzu

John B. Wolff organized the first association of Spiritualists, and dedicated the last years of his life to bringing Spiritualism to the public consciousness. He worked tirelessly, and "declared he would work for the cause just as earnestly after his death as while he lived," according to a 1910 Washington Post article. A staunch supporter till the end, Wolff’s gravestone appropriately reads: “Not Dead, But Arisen.”

Love! Realistic earth scent

When I tell people “Wow, you smell like the outdoors!” this is what I mean, and it is a high compliment. Very reminiscent of gardening on an early spring day. True to its name, it smells very subterranean (literally like dirt/wet earth,) but also somehow very bright and lively. Reminds me of the Death tarot card, which is really more about transformation than it is about loss.

My go-to

Since I saw a review of this scent on Tiktok over two years ago, it's been my go-to! I love the way the yuzu and dirt smells mix with the greenery into this soft, almost patchouli-like smell when worn. While I have started working my way through the rest of the catalog, my orders always include this scent. It's so subtle and beautiful all year round!

A wonderful earthy scent

The graveyard dirt is most noticeable at first, I compare it to how the earth smells after a good rain. On me, it simmers down to a grassy/tart lightness that is delightful. This scent has lasting power--most indie perfumes vanish (like a ghost!) on me pretty quickly, but Not Dead, But Arisen stays on me for hours. I love this one!

10/10!!!

I am so in love!! When you first open it the dirt smell is SUPER STRONG and almost overwhelming but when it dries down the scent is wonderful. A super androgynous scent which I really love, and the dirt note is subtle but still there. I got my package today and I put it on before work and it lasted my whole shift. Totally worth it.

Surprising, cottagecore approved

I'm one of those people who gets a headache from pretty much any scents so I never wear any. This one, however, sounded too tempting to skip, and I'm very pleasantly surprised.
The initial scent upon application, to me, is very sharp, and I would go as far as to say it's not a traditionally pleasant scent. It reminded me of how my hands smell after gardening, so definitely not a bad one, either, just not something I'm used to in perfumes. It's not overpowering, though, and sits close to the skin. But then after the dry-down it starts to get warmer and fresher, the soil notes soften, and I'm more reminded of fresh green moss after spring rain. Still not overpowering, still no headache.
After 3 hours of wear it's subtle, the note of soil is still there and is very pleasant and a little bit addicting. The light florals are more fresh than sweet.
All in all this was a big positive surprise for me. There's something very nostalgic about the scent and wearing it in midwinter makes me wish for spring even more. Very happy that it's wearable even for a very sensitive person.
